Kalahari Trip with BMW GS650 Dakar

  ““For many years I dreamt of acquiring a BMW GS650 Dakar and exploring the wilderness of Africa. I previously owned a Yamaha XT 500 which I deemed to be the most rugged bike on earth. It simply had no end and neglect had no seemingly disastrous effect on its general operation. I did find the brakes a bit of a problem as the rear brakes were still drum brakes.  As I don’t consider myself a youngster anymore, the vibration on the XT also started to take a toll on the body – especially after a good night of partying.

““As usual, we BOOZED it up on my B-day…….After my so called friends got their revenge by forcing me to funnel all kinds of alcoholic beverages and after I said no f*@$ STROH rum….the evening progressed. For in case you’re wondering - yes, the Stroh rum was ordered eventually, because they feel one should get hammered properly on your b-day – Thanks guys!
